LGU TO TRAIN 203 SHS STUDENTS UNDER THE WORK-IMMERSION PROGRAM

To formalize the collaboration between the Department of Education and Navotas Government,Mayor Tobias “Toby” M. Tiangcoand OIC-Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Alejandro G, Ibañez,signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the Senior High School-Work Immersion Program. The ceremonial signing was conducted last October 28, 2019 during the regular Monday flag raising ceremony at the city hall.
The said signing was attended and witnessed by the City Councillors, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Chief-Education Program Supervisor Curriculum Implementation Division, Division SHS Coordinator, School Heads, SHS Assistant Principals, and the Schools Work Immersion Focal Persons.
As part of Senior High School curriculum and as a requirement for graduation, 203 academic track students from Tangos National High School, Bangkulasi Senior high School, Felimon T. Lizan Senior High School.San Roque National High School, andKaunlaran High School will undergo two weeks of work immersion, which is equivalent to 80 hours of training.The students will be deployed in the different sections and department in the city government and they will be provided with training related to their course.
The MOA aimed to ensure that graduates of basic education are ready for employment, entrepreneurship, and higher learning pursuant to the R.A. 10533 or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013.
