SDO Navotas Students Shine in RSTF 2019

Sophia Ann Mae L. Bondoc, Alyzon J. Rivera, and Frances Audrey Q. Tan, Grade 9 students from Navotas National Science High School (NNSHS), were declared as Champions in the Science Innovation Expo (SIE) Team Category in the recently concluded Regional Science and Technology Fair 2019 held on November 22-23, 2019 at the MataasnaPaaralan ng Neptali A. Gonzales, Mandaluyong City.They will be representing the National Capital Region in the upcoming National Science and Technology Fair 2020 which will be held on February 2020. They were trained by Mr. Don King Evangelista, teacher 1 and Science Coordinator of NNSHS.

Another student, Trisha Fabiantes, Grade 10 from Kaunlaran High School (KHS) won 2nd place in Science Innovation Expo for the Individual Category. She also won the Best Presentor for the said category and received the 5th place for Best Poster. She was mentored by Ms. Heydiliza Santos, Master Teacher I of KHS.

Regional Science and Technology Fair (RSTF) 2019 is an annual event that aims to promote Science and Technology consciousness and a culture of innovation among the youth. Likewise, it aims to identify the most creative and innovative student researchers who shall represent the region during the National Science and Technology Fair in February 2020. It is composed of 4 categories namely Life Science Category (Individual and Team), Physical Science Category (Individual and Team), Robotics and Intelligent Machine (Individual and Team) and Science Innovation Expo (Individual and Team). This year’s theme is “Reinventing the Futre: Advancing Communities through Science, Technology and Innovations.
