SDO NAVOTAS SHARPENS TEACHERS SKILLS IN EVALUATION OF LEARNING OUTCOMES

To ensure that teachers have the essential knowledge and skills in the development of reliable and valid tests to evaluate learning outcomes of students under the K to 12 curriculum, SDONavotas, conducted the Division Enhancement Program on the Evaluation of Learning Outcomesheld from October 20-24, 2019 at Brentwood Village, Baguio City.
The activity was spearheaded by the Chief Education Program Supervisor of the Curriculum Implementation Division, Mrs. Loida O. Balasa with the strong support of Dr. Alejandro G. Ibanez, current Schools Division Superintendent. Leading the teachers per learning area in the development of quality assessment tools are the Education Program Supervisors: Dr. Rico Tarectecan (Filipino), Dr. Marco D. Meduranda (English), Dr. Magdalena F. Arañez (Mathematics), Dr. Grace R. Nieves (TLE), Mrs. Eloisa S. Sanchez (EdukasyonsaPagpapakatao) and Dr. Ruth R. Reyes (AralingPanlipunan).
This initiative is consistent with DepEd Order 55 s. 2016 and DepEd Order 25 s. 2017 which are policies that guide teachers in the assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes in the K to 12 classroom. The activity specifically aims to provide teachers with the strategies in designing effective summative tests congruent to the standards set by the Department of Education.
