SDO NAVOTAS ROLLS OUT PRIMALS JHS AT THE CITY OF PINES

148 junior high school teachers in Mathematics, English, Filipino and Science received training on PRIMALS JHS on October 04-07 at Baguio Teachers Camp.

In keeping with the mandate to provide quality instruction to improve learning  outcomes, SDO-Navotas conducted the Division Training on Pedagogical Retooling in Mathematics, Languages and Sciences (PRIMALS) for Junior High School teachers last October 04-07, 2019 at Teachers Camp, Baguio City.

A total of 148 teachers, department heads and master teachers received the training. Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division, Mrs. LoidaBalasa challenged the participants to exploit the opportunity to learn and be ready to share with their co-teachers the new strategies and pedagogies that they will gain from the seminar training. Dr. BuenafeSabado, OIC-ASDS, inspired the teachers to continuously  improve their craft to ensure quality delivery of the K to 12 curriculum and ultimately to nurture the Navoteno learners.

Topics covered in PRIMALS JHS include Curriculum Unpacking, Integration of Educational Technology, Developing Multiliteracies, and Integrating Literacy Strategies Across Curriculum. Break-out sessions per learning area was facilitated by Dr. Magdalena Arañez for Mathematics, Dr. Rico Tarectecan for Filipino, Dr. Marco Meduranda for English and Mr. Russel Samson for Science. Other EPS and PSDS also joined to ensure success of the activity.

A Learning Action Cell Action Plan per school covering the PRIMALS JHS topics was crafted as the major final output to ensure that the this kind of professional learning opportunities will be also implemented in the schools. “We are very thankful to the Division for providing us this kind of opportunity that does not only gave us chance to learn new things but also gave us a moments to bond in the spirit of professionalism and camaraderies,” said Mrs. Katherine Dioquino after the fun socialization night of PRIMALS JHS.
