SDO Navotas Holds Development and Validation of Digital Learning Resources for Effective ICT Integration in Teaching and Learning

Twenty four (24) Master Teachers and Twenty four (24) subject teachers attended the training-seminar entitled “Development and Validation of Digital Learning Resources for Effective ICT Integration” on 11-13 February 2020 at Kaunlaran High School.

This training-seminar aims to expose the teachers to various and relevant ICT tools and applications for developing lesson that will benefit the teachers and the students in the SDO of Navotas City. The said event started at 8:15 in the morning with National Anthem, Doxology, and Division Hymn presented through Audio Visual Presentation. The opening program was hosted by Mr. Ramon A. Avenido Jr., SHS Teacher of Kaunlaran High School.

Kaunlaran High School Principal Dr. Cristina Castillo-Miclat formally welcomed the participants of the said training.

Dr. Alejandro G. Ibañez, CESO VI, OIC-Schools Division Superintendent opened the event reiterating how important is ICT Integration in the teaching and learning process.

First Part of the training was conducted by Ms. Dona Liza Dungan, SHS Teacher of Kaunlaran High School wherein she discussed the House Rules, the Objectives, and the schedule of Activities.  The entire morning session was allotted to install the Office 365 to the participant’s devices and the installation of Microsoft Teams, One Drive, and One Note to mobile phones through the assistance of all the training facilitators.  In the afternoon session, SHS Teacher Mr. Ramon A. Avenido Jr., tackled the introduction of Office 365.  He emphasized the value of using Office 365 by the teachers.

The second day of the training-seminar was a busy and productive day for all the participants.    Ms. Jasmin Roxanne A. Sobremesana, SHS Teacher of Tangos National High School discussed the One Note and Teams.  San Roque National High School Teachers Ms. Ericelle Bianca A. Baltazar and Mr. Leonard S. Evangelista thought the One Drive and Microsoft Word Office 365 Productivity Tools respectively.  The participants were overwhelmed with Mr. Evangelista’s discussion on linking of the information from MS Excel to MS Word.

Ms. June Rose A. Estrada, Teacher of Felimon Lizan SHS talked about the Microsoft Powerpoint Office 365 Productivity Tool in the morning and Mr. Elijah S. Santos, Teacher of Bangkulasi Senior High School discussed clearly ng Productivity Tool of Microsoft Excel Office 365. This was the last part of the training-seminar discussions.

Later in the afternoon, the closing activity was conducted. Dr. Cristina Castillo-Miclat at Dr. Buenafe E. Sabado, OIC-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, and SDO Navotas ITO, Dr. Dondon G. Mateo congratulate the participants and give their encouragement on sharing what they have learned in the training-seminar to their co-teachers in their respective schools.
