SDO-NAVOTAS HOLDS “A DAY TO REMEMBER WITH THE SENIORS”

Despite the class suspension on December 3, 2019 due to typhoon “Tisoy”, the senior citizen teachers came with their “Kikay attire”at Eusebio Ramos Conference Hall, Navotas Elementary School, Navotas City for the activity entitled “A Day to Remember with the Seniors.”

It was spearheaded by the OIC-Schools Division Superintendent of the division,  Dr. Alejandro G. Ibanez who is the brain behind the activity.  In his message he underscored that this activity intends to givevalue to our senior citizens who are in service, whom he call the seasoned teachers of the division. He alsoinstructed the Chief of SGOD, Dr. Gemma C. Villaluna to include this activity for seniors every year toprovide continuing opportunities not only to the newly hired personnel but also for officials and employees who opt to retire soon  from the government service.

The program included learning sessions that surely helped our seniors  discover innovations and options that will sustain them physically, mentally,socially and financially and living an active life.The resource speakers invited were the following:Dr. Jackie Inventor and Ms. Diana Lyn A. Ignacio, fromCity Hospital of Navotas who gave health and wellness tips to the seniors. Dr. Cecilia M. Saenz, former principal of SDO-Navotas and principal of La Athena de Academy, inspired  the participants in sharing her experience on her life after retirement,  Mr. June Fermin L. Javier, Administrative Officer V, discussed the filing of retirement  and Ms. Mayette D.P. Trinidad, former Head of BPLO, Realtors and Freelance Financial Advisor taught the participants on how to become a happy, healthy and wealthy retiree. “Goals should be written and visualized”  “A life with a mission is not just to earn money but to have money and share it to others.” Iplanoangpera at buhayaccording to her.

Congressman John Reynald M. Tiangcobrightened the day of the seniors despite the announcement of work suspension.He thanked the senior citizen teachers for their continuous service in the organization and with their dedication in raising the quality of education in Navotas.  In addition, he gave tips on how to live healthy life and highlighted the importance of healthy relationship to others which contributes good health to us.The activity ended with zumba activity. The participants enjoyed, learned a lot and went home with a smile.
