SDO Navotas DRRM Conducts Its Last Activity For 2019

In light with the need to strengthen the preparedness response of all the schools in Navotas Cityon the impending threat of the 7.2 Magnitude earthquake, the Division DRRM of SDO Navotas conducted the Review and Enhancement of Contingency Plan cum Capacity Building on Standardized DRRM Modules and SDRRM Manual last November 28 at Navotas Elementary School and November 29-30, 2019 at Hidden Sanctuary Resort in Marilao Bulacan.
On the 1st day of the training which opened up at 9:00 am in the morning, Dr. Gemma C. Villaluna, School Governance and Operation Division Chief gave her welcoming and Inspirationalmessage followed by Mr. Jayson Castro. Division DRRM Coordinator as he acknowledged all the speakers and participants that composed of SDRRM Coordinators and their alternates.
The guest speaker from Metro Manila Development Authority, Mr. Aldo R. Mayor, Chief of Public Safety Division discussed the Metro Manila Earthquake Impact Reduction Study (MMEIRS) FINDINGS that are relevant and can be used as basis in formulating the School Contingency Plan.
After that, the rest of the speakers coming from different schools in Navotas namely, Jose Emmanuel Baldonado, Elldher C. Nicolas, Lovella Dicang, Peter Carlo Sevilla, Mark Alton Dela Paz, Bernard Antonio, Edelyn Rodrigo and Amado Banawa Jr. discussed the remaining topics for the rest of the training days.
Contingency Planning is very important to have in school not only because it is required by the Law as stated under the “Rule 6, Section 4 of the RA 10121 but it is a preparedness plan that can turn into response plan once a hazard occurs.
