NNHS, DDES Bags Go Green Schools Award

For the Second time around, Navotas National High School and Dagat-Dagatan Elementary School were recognized as prominent advocates of “GO GREEN SCHOOL”during the appreciation and awarding ceremony of the2019 Regional Search for the Best Implementers of Go Green School Program in the National Capital Region, last December 6, 2019 at the DepEd NCR conference room.

The Regional Search for Go Green School,was held last September and October 2019.Navotas National High School under the able leadership of Dr. Maria Cristina A. Robleshas been awarded Rank 1 among all Secondary schools and Dagat-Dagatan Elementary Schoolunder the dynamic leadership of Dr. Floretta M. Quijano, principal gotRank 5 among all the elementary schools in NCR.

The Green School Program wasrealized to ensure that schools are child friendly and promotes environment care and stewardship. Specifically, the Green School focus on the following core:

Core 1: Toxic reduction, Outdoor and indoor Air Quality and Acoustical Performance
Core 2: Resources Sustainability
Core 3: Green Healthy Space
Core 4: Health and Wellness
Core 5: Environmental Literacy
Core 6: Preparedness, Safety and Security
Core 7: Linkages and Networks

All Go Greenwinners were also recognized by Hon. Mayor Tobias Reynald M. Tiangco, during the flag raising ceremonies of the City last December 16, 2019. Present during the awarding were the very dynamic Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Alejandro G. Ibañez, Dr. Maria Cristina A. Robles, Principal NNHS, Dr. Floretta M. Quijano, Principal, Dagat-Dagatan Elementary School, Dr. Grace R. Nieves, EPS In-Charge pf Green School program and Schools’ Go Green Focal Persons.

All schools in the SDO Navotas have been consistent in the implementation of Green School since the launch of the Program in 2016. As an advocate of Green School, we continuously promote our mantra,Think Green, Live Green, Let’s Go Green!
