Dagat-dagatan ES Teacher Cops Regional Storybook Writing and Illustration Awards

Gurong Navoteño excelled in the recently concluded Regional Level Competition held on September and October respectively, for the “3rd Storybook Writing Competition”. Mr. Cesar Salvame, Jr. outclassed other story writers and illustrators in the National Capital Region afterbagging the Third Place for the Manuscript Category entitled “Ang Prinsesa ng Banyera” (Grade 3 level) and First Place for the Illustration and Designing. He was awarded on November 26, 2019 at Eurotel Hotel, North Edsa, Quezon City . Present in the awarding ceremony supporting him were Dr. Floretta M. Quijano, DDES Principal, Mrs.Loida O. Balasa, CID-Chief Supervisor, Dr. Grace R. Nieves, EPS-LRMS/EPP-TLE, Mr. Vergel Junior Eusebio, PDO II-LRMS and Ms. Shirley Eva Marie Mangalus, Division Librarian.

Mr. Salvame, a teacher of Dagat-Dagatan Elementary School got the first place for his original-locally inspired stories for Grade 1-3 levels during the Division Level Competition. Among the 3 entries for the regional screening, his Grade 3 entry rank Third Place and moved on to the next level of competition. As he knew how to play around with the story and with his talent in illustration, he also got the First Place rank for the layout and Designing.

DepEd’s Storybook Writing Competition seeks to select and award the best teacher-developed K to 3 original storybooks; recognize teachers’ skills and competencies in writing and illustrating K to 3 stories ; and harvest storybook for LR Portal publication.

His entry was submitted to the National Secretariat for the National level competition.
